Blu, our 5 year old cat, escaped through an open window this evening. She is declawed, so we never let her outside because she can’t defend herself properly or climb a tree. Also, I’ve never liked the idea of have a pet roam the neighborhood, picking up fleas and eating who-knows-what, and then coming in the house for a nice nap on the couch. So, we keep both of our felines indoors all the time.
Anyway, back to the story at hand… It was almost completely dark outside when this happened, but we managed to track her down in a wooded area near the house. She was totally freaked out by the whole experience and wouldn’t come to us or let us near her, so one of us had to blind her with a flashlight while the other one snuck up behind her and grabbed her.
Needless to say, this was a rather traumatic experience for everyone involved, but she’s now safely back in the house and fighting with her “brother” after enjoying a nice dinner of canned tuna.
Cats have the life, don’t they?
