Cabin fever

Staying in the house is driving me crazy, literally. I normally enjoy having a week or two off from work, but this is completely different. The doctor has ordered me to rest, so leaving the house in the freezing cold doesn’t seem like a very viable option. We did bundle up really well and take a short drive in the car last night, just to get me out of the house for a few minutes.

This is a really bad time of year for me to be incapacitated, due to the holidays and the need to be shopping and going about the usual hustle-bustle that comes along with Christmas. There are so many things that I would love to be doing, but really don’t feel up to doing right now. Hopefully, another week will find me in tip-top condition, as I can tell that I’m improving a little every day.

Honey and I have reservations at at wonderful restaurant next weekend, which I’m really looking forward to. It’s the kind of place that easily puts you in the holiday spirit, with it’s fantastic decorations and warm atmosphere. That will probably be my first real “excursion” since getting sick.

I’d better try to eat alot while I’m there, because I’ll need my strength for that whirlwind of shopping that I’ll only have a few short days to complete.
