Back to the old grindstone today. I have always hated it when a holiday falls in the middle of the week. It’s much nicer to have a 3 or 4 day weekend than to have to work the day before AND after a holiday.
Anyway, the fireworks were great! We met our friends & their kids there. I am very surprised that our tiny little town is able to provide that kind of entertainment. There must have been several thousand people out there watching. We invited our 87 year old neighbor lady to go with us, and she accepted and seemed to have a great time.
We bought tickets yesterday to go see Vicki Lawrence (from Mama’s Family.) Honey is in love with her, and records and watches the show all the time. It should be lots of fun, even though it’s going to be outside in an amphitheater. We managed to score second row seats, which is fortunate, considering most of the venue was sold out already.
This is going to be a busy week. I’ve got choir practice tonight, a class tomorrow night, and the Al Gore movie on Friday. It’s better than sitting at home, though!
